Hello I am Esther, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Level Counsellor with Australian Counselling Association.

 

I am passionate about helping people in their relationships-whether that be in the workplace, intimate partner, friends or family-and their mental health so they can be the best version of themselves.

 

I have worked in the Community Mental Health and Family and Relationships industry for 15 years and developed extensive experience in understanding and working with highly complex issues relating to trauma, mental ill-health, substance dependence, violence, abuse and neglect, workplace burnout and bullying.

 

I have completed a Bachelor of Social Science Counselling and Master of Social Work. Having had my own lived experience of childhood trauma and mental health difficulties, I take the perspective that mental health difficulties are often a signpost for us that something in our external world is impacting negatively, and we need support or help to change this or manage it better.

 

I will provide a space to talk through issues, gain a different perspective and apply practical strategies for your individual situation. Coming from a Recovery perspective of mental health I utilise the following therapies and frameworks in my practice: Strengths based, Family Systems, Empowerment, Acceptance Commitment, Existential and Psychodynamic therapy.

 

When I am not working I enjoy mountain biking, nature walks, yoga, gaming, reading and watching the cricket, rugby union and comedy. I offer Medicare rebates so getting the help when you need it makes this more possible.

 

Gap free of $20 may be applicable.
